Halloween FUN

We recently hopped into the car and decided to follow our noses as we drove around Southeast Wisconsin in search of some interesting Halloween decorations.  We had found in the past that this was a great way to discover many interesting things.

As you can see once again this method of travel truned up an interesting pumpkin farm in the Kenosha area.  The farm is the Smith Pumkin Farm.  WWW.smithpumpkinfarm.com   After this discover we thought a few of our grandchildren might enjot a trip there also.

Dorothy and I also thought you might enjoy a short visit with us.

September East Coast Trip

 Maryland and Connecticut Trip

September 2012

As you age you forget somethings. I feel like this post belonged here a long time ago.  Back in September we took a two week trip to the east coast to visit with 2 of our daughters Becky and Melissa.  Our first stop was in Maryland where we were the guests of our daughter Becky, her husband Tim and 3 of our grandchildren, Ele, and her twin sisters Maggie and Izzy.  The kids have grown so much.

Our visit included a few side day trips of course. One to Washington DC, another to Skyline Drive for a ride along the Blue Ridge Mountains, a trip to Annapolis MD. Tim and I attended the Cubs/Nationals game with a neighbor who had a couple of extra tickets.

Day Trip

Another one of our day trips was a visit to the Gillete Castle which is situated high over the Connecticut River.  We took the Chester Ferry which  began operations in 1769 and is one of the oldest continuously running ferries on the Connecticut River from Chester across to Lyme, the trip across costing $3. \
